In celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’ve teamed up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Citi to raise awareness for a cause that affects countless Americans every year. We’ve re-launched a new and improved Pink Ribbon on MySpace and Facebook that gives users tons of easy ways to show their support and help out in the fight against breast cancer. We’ll even give you Pink Points for participating and at the end of the month, we’ll be raffling off cool prizes like iPods and iPhones. So join Pink Ribbon and inspire others by sharing your story, read others’ stories about how breast cancer has touched their lives, donate year round without spending a dime by downloading the Pink Ribbon Toolbar, sign-up for a credit card and Citi will donate $50 to Komen if your application is approved, and much more!
We’re really excited for everyone to get involved and we’re confident that with your help, we can reach our goal of raising $250,000 this month for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which will go directly to funding breast cancer research and programs. So go ahead, make a difference, and join our Pink Ribbon Facebook and MySpace applications.

The first version of our fund-raising shopping mall is now live! Start by clicking on the Shopping Mall link in your nav bar. Here you will see links to different merchants - any time you shop by clicking these links, a portion of the purchase price will be donated to your cause.
Looking for something specific? Try out our new product search powered by Shopzilla. We’ll automatically search thousands of stores for the lowest prices and display them all for you in one neat page. Get price comparisons, merchant ratings and product reviews all in one convenient place, all while benefiting the cause you care about.
Product search is currently in beta and only available to registered portal users. We will eventually roll it out to the main search results page as well, but for now, enjoy! We’d love to hear any feedback you may have, so please drop us a comment.

I just wanted to let you all know that the Network Stats page is now active and on your top nav bar. Here you will see the top 10 searchers, inviters, recruiters and points earners. This list only shows people who have entered their first name - so if you think you should be on one of the lists and you aren’t, click on ‘eddit account’ in the top right and enter your first name. Stats are updated every 20 minutes, so don’t worry if you don’t see your name there immediately.
Also, we now have over 4000 registered members! Keep searching and helping out your cause.

We’ve just rolled out a new feature: customized news feeds. Now you can see the headlines you care about on your home page.
If you click the [edit] link on the dashboard, you will be taken to a page where you can subscribe to feeds from your favorite websites and blogs. You can enter either the direct URL of a known feed (i.e. http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_latest.rss), or simply enter the URL of any website (i.e. cnn.com) and we’ll do our best to find all the feeds published at that site. Try it out on your favorite site - they might be publishing a feed right under your nose! Once you add a few feeds, go back to the dashboard and you’ll see all the latest headlines (newest on top). We will continuously refresh the feeds for you, so you can expect fresh content each time you visit.
If you have any questions, comments or bug reports, we’d love to hear them. Please leave a comment here and we’ll be sure to address it.
For more information about feeds click here.

Hi all,
Last week we hit the 3,000 user milestone on the FreeCause Portal page and wanted to thank you for your support!
We’re committed to making your experience on the Portal (MyFreeCause) great so in the coming weeks you’ll be noticing some changes. As we begin development, we’d love to get you involved in brainstorming with us on future additions and improvements.
A few ideas for includes our team had were:
- More network statistics so you can see how you rank relative to your friends and other supporters in your network
- Benefit shopping mall where a portion of your purchase price will be donated to your organization and count towards your total contribution
- Stories from members about their experiences and commitments to your organization
- Bookmarks on the Dashboard allowing access your favorite sites with one click access from the Portal
- More transparency to how donations are handled
- A forum where users can relate with others on the cause or assocation they joined for
We’re excited to hear any and all of your suggestions. Feel free to reply to this blog entry with any ideas or feedback you have: which features are interesting, which features you’d like to see and why, or even how you think existing features might be improved. All of your comments will be taken into account as we work to get new versions of the portal live!
Thanks again for all your help,
FreeCause Team

Thanks to everyone for being involved with one of our many charitable causes or organizations!
We have started this blog to keep all of our members up to date about whats going on with your MyFreeCause portal and to help add some transparency to the entire fundraising process.
Anytime we launch new features, pages, or anything else really, we’ll be posting on here
We’ve been very excited about the response we’ve seen with this new application and we are really looking for some feedback from you about how we can make this better, whats not clear (which right now could be quite a bit), and ways we can add more value to your fundraising experience.
Looking forward to helping make a difference,
FreeCause Team
